K-Max's Tweets

"Domain Registry of Canada"

Folks, if you get mail from them, do yourself a favor and shop around. In fact STAY AWAY FROM THEM. I'm not saying they're illegitimate nor they don't provide a good service. But... they are asking for $40 CDN a year. $40. To renew one domain.

It seems that a lot of people are too lazy to shop around for the best deal since these guys are still in business though, the fact that customers reply back through snailmail makes me question how tech-savvy they are (hopefully they aren't a tech company). Their mail to me is annoying and they are asking for $40 CDN / year to transfer and review each domain I own.

Basically, if you have a public WHOIS listing for your domain, they will look you up and send you junk snailmail. I think this company is the only company thus far who has done this. It apparently is legal to use publically accessible information this way, as I have received their notices several times.

Whatcha gonna to do DROC if I don't renew? Whatcha gonna do when the K-Max runs wild over your "expiration notice?"

By the way, I only pay $10 US / year for each domain. For the amount they are asking, I could own FOUR domains.

So yeah, this mail, definitely goes in the garbage. Yours should as well. Shop around, get yourself a Trump-quality deal.

Don't take my word for it, search their name and see their reputation.
