Re-opened! Welcome to kmaxwell.com!

Welcome to my newly rebuilt site!

Pardon the mess... still cleaning up 'round these parts of the web.

It has been a while since I ran my own room on the inter-webs, but I assure you I have been very busy building up other things and the day job as well including running musclesportsweb.com last year which is currently on hiatus. A lot has changed since kmaxmedia.com back in 2007 and I have to say, coming back to familiar roots is very refreshing. Don't get me wrong though. There's plenty of new stuff that I am looking forward to exploring as well including High Definition Video.

In the US, Digital TV had already been adopted, but in Canada, this will be a reality at the end of August in 2011 and there really isn't any time to lose if you haven't gotten the digital TV tuner yet. Especially if you aren't really tech-savvy.

That aside. One of my goals is to explore the notion of HD on the web. Youtube, vimeo and other sites have adopted HD. But what gets me that in spite of "720P" and 1080i/p being pimped out there, the video itself is still within a smaller window. That is, it gets "reshaped" to fit a window within the browser. You won't necessarily enjoy the full experience on your computer until you use full screen. Really, I see HD use on web video more about "higher detail" than true HD. Not to say the resolution that some sites isn't true HD, but... why send 720P video that will only fit in a 480 height window? I guess to show the other content on the page I guess.

Believe me, people will enjoy what HD will offer and once HD live video becomes more accessible across the web, we will see some pretty interesting things.

Well folks, it's been a very busy 2 months for me in getting this site together. Have a look around including the work section to see some of my work from before. You will see some familiar works go back up (I do plan on re-adding clips from Anime North).

And for those who are looking for kmaxmedia.com, fear not, the brand is there, but just put on the back burner to make ways for this more personal site. So keep it here.
